Welcome
About the Practice
In 1999, I moved to Los Angeles to start a medical practice devoted to the practice of men’s health. As an athlete growing up and as a long time fitness enthusiast, I wanted to work with men to optimize their health focusing on nutrition, exercise, and wellness. I was frustrated by years of working with men who were not taking care of themselves. I was hoping that California would provide a perfect environment for my men’s health practice as it was a place where the majority of men prioritize exercise and eating right and I could contribute by working with my patients to take them to the next higher level of health.
I chose to practice in the 9201 Sunset Building, an older established medical building just on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, specifically because it was a medical building that focused on health rather than illness. I wanted my patients to be immersed by bright light, positive energy, and good health. The majority of my colleagues in the building also focus on optimizing wellness and it's rare to see anyone in the elevator that doesn’t radiate the glow of good health. What started as a small office grew rapidly into a large practice. I never advertised the practice but instead relied on referrals from other medical providers and on happy satisfied patients referring their friends and family. As more space became available in the building, we expanded the office and eventually grew to the size we are today, encompassing a large part of the 8th floor in the building.
The Goals of My Practice
My goal from the beginning was to provide the absolute best care possible for my patients. I aspire to be like the Mayo Clinic where everything is done with the highest quality and the utmost professionalism. I was cautioned when I moved to LA that, because Los Angeles had so many well trained doctors, the competition would be fierce. I was convinced however that there would always be room at the top, a place for excellence and for a more personal style of care. As we grew, we added other physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical staff all of whom are committed to our mission to take great care of our patients and to be the best practice we can be. I have always sought out the most skilled, personable, and committed employees. My management style has been to find the very best people, to treat my employees well, to compensate them fairly and to offer good benefits, with the idea of maintaining a cohesive and consistent staff for my patients. We have very little turnover in the practice and most of the employees that are working with me today laugh about the fact that we will all be working together until we retire.
